Meet Calvin! Yes, we named him after Calvin and Hobbes, the comic strip both Cory and I love. We got him just over two weeks ago when he was just a mere 7 1/2 weeks old! Since I am at home all day for a while we figured it's the best time to get a small puppy! He is so adorable and is already crate trained and working on house training. He can sit already and is so good with other dogs and people! He's a beagle mix and is only going to get to be around 25 lbs. Our rabbits don't like him too much yet, but Chloe is certainly curious. Our household is slowly growing, now with 3 pets!
Other changes in our lives include the scenery in our humble abode. In July we got a new couch set and it is so much more comfortable than that futon we had! We love it.
But that was nothing compared to the bear of a project we had going on in the kitchen. When we first moved in there was hideous wallpaper, remember? (See blog from August 2006) Well we tried to tear it off and discovered that the previous owners had wallpapered OVER wallpaper so there was 2 layers. So the task that lay before us: Peel off 2 layers of wallpaper, spackle over mistakes, sand it smooth, wash the walls, tape up the borders, add a layer of primer, then finally, paint. Well we've lived in the house for a year now, and only in the last 2 weeks did we finish ALL of those steps. Finally! We think it looks great.
We are leaving for a vacation to Maine in a few days to visit Cory's family and perhaps even my brother's family (who lives in New Brunswick, right next to Maine). Stay tuned for pictures!

Your kitchen looks fabulous, and much improved over the nasty wallpaper. We like your puppy too and think he looks a bit like Cory. ;)
