25 Things About Us.

Sarah and I were both "tagged" by facebook people and commanded under threat of torture and ignominious death to write 25 random things about ourselves. I post them here for your viewing and reading pleasure. Sarah will go first.

25 Random things about me - Sarah

1. I'm a little OCD about brushing my teeth, the nighttime brushing ritual lasts about 10 minutes.
2. I hate slow drivers in the fast lane and have serious road rage!
3. I hate Barry Manilow. I don't know why.
4. I am a VERY picky and particular eater.
5. I secretly love being in school...I want to get my PhD someday
6. I love love love animals, wildlife and nature and am more concerned about the animals in a movie than the people.
7. I hate talking on the telephone (to anyone, don't be offended) and rarely answer it. While Cory and I were dating he thought I didn't like him when we talked on the phone. I did like him, I just would rather talk face to face. Don't know what to say on the phone!
8. I love fruit and would rather eat it than chocolate or candy.
9. I love 80's music!
10. I can touch my nose with my tongue.
11. I hate baking and cooking. Why spend 30-60 minutes preparing food that'll be gone in 5??
12. I did an internship in a medical examiner's office during my Master's program and picked up dead bodies from crime scenes. Ew.
13. I have a terrible memory for events and my childhood and wish to this day that I wrote in a journal growing up.
14. I'm related to Wayne Newton.
15. I love the internet. Cory says it's my best friend.
16. I have a phobia about the dentist. I HATE the dentist.
17. As a kid I was (and still am) a rockin' roller skater. Rollerblades? Not so much.
18. I was in my high school musical every year.
19. I am good at math, science and English but TERRIBLE when it comes to history and geography.
20. I don't mind insects, except ticks. They freak me out bad.
21. Cory thinks I'm a freak because I very rarely sweat. And if I do, it's only between my boobs :)
22. I have never ever been a morning person.
23. I love traveling but hate airports. I get nauseous just thinking about them.
24. I am fascinated with natural disasters and dream about them often, particularly tidal waves and tornadoes.
25. I don't mind doing household chores, EXCEPT emptying the dishwasher and folding laundry.



25 Things about me – by Cory

1. I must kick gunky snow that collects behind car tires until it all comes off – I’m OCD about it.
2. Including part-time jobs, I’ve had more than 25.
3. I am a computer/video game chess addict.
4. I am an easy target for Burger King advertising (I went out and got the “Angry Whopper” the day after I saw the commercial)
5. I love cargo pants (and waffle shirts) – to me, they’ll never go out of style.
6. I absolutely NEED floss if I intend to eat ribs or steak – I’ll floss in front of the president and the jolly ol’ Queen of England if I have to; I cannot stand a juicy hunk of meat stuck between my teeth.
7. I used to hate football and think it was only for those who couldn’t make it with their smarts; now, I love football.
8. I’ve owned three cars – all Toyotas.
9. My favorite pen of all time is the Pilot G2 07 (fine point – not ultra fine point) – I cannot abide the standard ball point – the “Bic” type.
10. I write a lot in my handy notebook – I enjoy writing rhyming kid’s stories.
11. I use a moleskin notebook – very snooty.
12. I have a backpack fetish – I own many, and must look at them whenever given the opportunity.
13. I also insist on looking at books whenever given the chance, though we have many more than we need.
14. Now that Sophie (our daughter) is here, I’ve made sounds I never knew I could produce in attempting to entertain her. She does get a kick out of them.
15. I also used to mock golfers and golfing; now I love it.
16. I love being on high places – mountains, buildings, people’s shoulders – it’s just cool.
17. I have broad taste in music – I love classical music, love ‘death metal’ when I’m running, love the Beatles (of course). Ironically, I often don’t know the songs they sing on American Idol. I suppose I like extremes more – not these pansy/fruity songs with extraneous runs and frills and such.
18. I am a Pittsburgh Penguins and Steelers fans – the Pirates have never earned my allegiance. Losers.
19. I used to mock Barry Manilow and enjoy calling him names; now, I love mocking him more than ever. Am I the only one who thinks he looks like a woodland shrew?
20. I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat – I must be careful about being horizontal or I may wake up unaware of the time, situation, and yes, place I am in.
21. I am obsessed with headphones. I must own 5 sets minimum. And several different varieties. In my life I have owned a couple dozen I estimate.
22. I don’t look good in most hats.
23. My favorite non-Earth planet is Saturn. But lately, I’ve become more and more fond of Neptune. Neptune gets a bad rap people.
24. Barry Manilow should move to Neptune.
25. I enjoy most foods. Really, almost any food. But why would someone put shredded coconut on chocolate. WHY!?!? It is NOT good, I don’t care what George Bailey says!
