I love being at home with Sophie. But over time, I can feel my brain slowly transforming into a gelatinous mass of goop. Cory is worried. My brain may not make it. So, what did I do? I applied for jobs, of course! And I got offered a job! I am now a faculty member of the Davidson County Community College (it's about half hour away) and I will be teaching Anatomy & Physiology I and II classes ONLINE.
Yes, this job was meant to be because I originally applied to be a biology laboratory assistant and would have to go to campus a couple evenings a week. When the Dean of the college called me, she said she had biology faculty positions available, and wouldn't I rather do that? Heck yes, I said.
Plus, in this position I get to teach from home online only about 10-12 hours a week for both classes. Perfect. I get to stay with my baby, reuse and perhaps reform my brain into the solid mass of spit-firing neurons it once was, aaaaand the extra money ain't so bad either. Huzzah huzzah! I am excited! I am driving to the campus tomorrow to get acquainted, fill out paperwork and learn the ropes of how to teach using Blackboard.
Maybe there is hope for my brain after all.
