March Madness

No, we are not college basketball fans around here, but it still does seem like this month is full of madness! It has been a whirlwind of activity and has gone by so fast.

So first things first!

POTTY TRAINING
Sophie is a toilet user!!  She is potty trained finally! (not during the night, still wearing pull-ups at night) At the beginning of the month we decided to try again and put her in underwear for a weekend.  We had 2 days of accidents where she peed anywhere she was (ie. our bed, the kitchen, carpet...you name it) but then it was like it clicked. And she didn't have an accident again! She even poops on the potty now. Miracle upon miracles.

We promised her a Big Girl Party when she was potty trained so the next weekend we went to Chuck E Cheese for the first time. She had a great time! Then we went home where I had delectable treats waiting for her that I made the night before. Cupcakes, ice cream and the creme de la creme, OREO TRUFFLES.  I made them for the first time and oh, boy, they were scrum-didly-umptious. And she opened some presents.  That girl is spoiled rotten.

SARAH COOKS!
Speaking of me making all those treats and being all domestic-like (so unlike me), I have also been learning how to cook. Sorta. One of my New Year's Resolutions was to learn to make more meals, and I have made some winners lately! I suppose I should mention I did have a flop or two, I ain't a miracle worker, people! This last dish I made was called chicken roll-ups where you make a mixture of chicken, cream cheese, milk, butter, garlic and put a blob of the mixture in a crescent roll, roll it up, drizzle a mixture of cream of chicken soup/cheese/milk on top and bake it for 30 min.  It too, was delectable.

SOCCER
What else...oh, Cory is in an Adult Soccer League.  I guess he was jealous of Sophie playing soccer and wanted to do it too. :)  So he plays once a week in an adult league and from what I've heard, his teammates think he's really good!  He hasn't played since high school, but I can tell, he's always had a knack for soccer so it doesn't surprise me that he's good.  And he's having fun!  But he's always so sore after, it takes the rest of the week for him to recover, then he does it all over again!

SIENNA
Sienna is standing and even walking using her walker toys that she pushes around the house. That girl is getting so big so fast! She loves standing by the window when it's open and feeling the wind come in on her face.

Speaking of open windows, what is with this weather lately?! I love it! It's been in the 70s and 80s all week and we've been outside everyday. I love daylight savings and springtime. Makes me happy. Except for the fact that daylight savings messed up my girls' sleeping schedule for like a week. But it's worth it.

PROJECTS
Oh, and this month we've also done a few house projects.  Cory built some shelves for the laundry room (no pictures) and we painted the island in our kitchen.  Stupid me, forgot to take a before picture of the hideous thing, but you can kinda get the idea what it looked like in the "during the process" picture. New paint and hardware and it looks brand new!

AFTER:

YE OL' IRISH
And for St. Patty's Day this weekend we made sugar cookies with green chocolate chips, and took advantage of the FREE fries at Burger King, with their "special green St. Paddy's Day sauce" (pffft. It was only green ketchup).  Don't let the greasy food fool you, Cory has lost almost 30 pounds since New Years!  GO CORY! He's doing great.
