Pilot Mountain State Park is about 25 miles north of where we live in NC. As you can see, it is a big mountain jutting out of the ground out of nowhere! There is a lot to do there, rock climb, hike, picnic, canoe on the river, etc, etc. We decided to do something fun this weekend but wanted to start off slow, so we had a little picnic and hiked some trails. It was beautiful! And free!

We hiked around the mountain and saw tons of hawks flying overhead. The closer we got to the top, the closer those hawks were! The weather was perfect for hiking, about 83 degrees and sunny.

This picture was taken at the Little Pinnacle Overlook, which is a tinier mountain off to the side. It gives a great view of the valley below. We live right next to wine country so the countryside is beautiful!Meanwhile back at home, I am still looking for work and Cory is working full time at Hugh Chatham hospital in Elkin, NC, about 35 miles Northeast of us. We will be working on house projects soon (ie. painting) so stay tuned!
