me, AGAIN!

Sophie will be turning 1 year old (for the first and only time EVER people!) in 3 months time and I decided I wanted to make her a spectacular cake all by myself. In order to not make a fool of myself and also not make the cake an embarrassment, I wanted to practice.

So here is my first attempt at a fondant covered chocolate cake, with gum paste (all edible) decorations. I definitely learned some things to improve on! Overall, though, for my first cake, I think it turned out pretty good. Now we get to eat it! Guess who is excited. I'll give you a hint, his name starts with a "C" and ends in "ory!"

Ok, I'm way impressed! Seriously, I am amazed with the decorations. Obviously, you have an eye for cakes that look good, so you will appreciate this blog that Becca looks at. http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/ It's a laugh riot.

Sarah, that looks wonderful! Very impressive. And I love that you are practicing for Sophie´s birthday.

Have you done this before? That makes our 8 years of "practicing" on our children looks really shoddy. Well done.
