December activities...Christmas prep, soccer, Brian Regan

Hello there! It seems blogging is taking a back burner to everything else, but I've at least been able to blog at least once a month, so as to prove we are still around somewhere.

December has been busy! We normally don't think about Christmas until December rolls around because November is busy with Sophie's birthday, our anniversary and Thanksgiving. But now that Sophie is at the age she understands what's going on, we've been doing more Christmas stuff earlier than we would because she's so into it! We love seeing her get excited about this stuff.

So first we put up our Christmas lights outside AND our Christmas tree, all a few days before December. We went to see the Tanglewood festival of lights already, been playing Christmas music out the ying yang and reading Christmas books to Sophie. We've hung our stockings with care and roasted chestnuts by the fire.  Ok, not the chestnut part. Do people actually do that? And now we get to begin our fun advent countdown to Christmas with the 12 days of Christmas presents sent to us by Grammie and Grampie Quinlan! We love that tradition so we thinks we're gonna keep it.

In addition to the Christmas festivities Sophie is also going to a music class once a week where she gets to dance and play instruments. She's also in soccer now! Cory's wanted to put her in soccer for a while and now that she's 3 Cory signed her up.  So far she's kinda doin' her own thing though.  During practices she runs around and dances around, occasionally kicks the ball here and there.  She's THAT member of the team that everyone groans about...not gonna be much help yet! But she has fun and she's only been twice and Cory says she is getting better.

This past weekend we got to see the comedian Brian Regan as a birthday present to Cory from his parents.  It worked out perfect, we went a little late because we wanted to get the girls in bed first, then when we arrived he was just starting, and we were told to sit up in the front, the "pit" as they call it, because they wanted to fill up seats. We were so close we could see the wrinkles in his face and all his crazy facial expressions.  It was a good time!

Also, Sienna turned 7 months. Here's her mugshot! She sits up well, eats fruits and veggies like a champion, rolls over and can travel across a room that way, smiles and laughs all the time and is the cutest thing (under 3 years old) we've ever seen!

Oh, forgot to mention that I have yet another job.  Yes, I know I can't keep still. Since the instructor at the community college that I was teaching anatomy and physiology for came back to her old job, I haven't had any classes to teach there for a while.  NOW I am tutoring biology online for Tutor.com. It's fun! I get to stay at home, keep up in my field, make extra money, and be on the internet, my best friend. I am also continuing to write articles online but tutoring gives me more money for my time.

Ok I guess I probably won't end up blogging until after Christmas (just a hunch) so we'll see you then!

They are so cute! You sound super busy! I love those Christmas activities and traditions! They sound so fun! Soccer for 3 year olds is a hoot! More like 'beehive' soccer, but oh so much fun and great exercise!! Hope you stay warm! Look for a package in the mail from us!
