My Little Sickies

So both my girls have been sick for two weeks. Straight. Nothing but drugs, drugs, crying, drugs, more crying, coughing, drugs and more drugs. No sleep for us! Sophie started it. She must have picked up something from her summer camp she went to at the YMCA at the beginning of the month. She started with a fever and croup, which if you are familiar with the virus, is HORRIBLE! It causes the trachea to swell so your breathing is labored, and you sound like a seal barking when you cough. It was scary because their breathing is difficult when they are upset. Anyway, she was put on steroids so she could sleep at night. She then developed a wet, junky cough, and conjunctivitis, where she had red, swollen eyes and discharge from her eyes. And her ears were both infected and she had a hard time hearing. So she was on steroids, eye drops, and now antibiotics for the ears, all the while being hopped up on advil and tylenol for pain and fever. SIIIIIGH.

Then Sienna got it.  But she started with a sore throat, and developed blisters on her throat, her ears became filled with fluid as well, and NOW she has developed the croup. So she is also on steroids and antibiotics and pain relievers.

5 prescriptions, and 4 doctor visits in 2 weeks.  YIKES! Thankfully, I think they are on the mend.  Sophie is pretty much all better except for the antibiotics for the ears.  Sienna is slowly getting over the croup and is still  feeling a little icky and cranky but she's getting better. Here is a picture of Sienna, pretty much how both girls looked all week. LOTS of TV. Life has been at a stand-still for me!

And on a random side note, here is a picture of a diaper bike I made for a friend's baby shower this month. I've done many diaper "cakes" but wanted to try something new this time.
