Playing Catch-Up...summer fun

My, how the time has slipped by! It is the last day of September. Yowza.  What did we do all summer?? Let's see...

1. Sophie had swimming lessons
2. Trips to Maine and Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, Tennessee
3. Sophie went to summer camp for a week at the YMCA, and then both girls were sick for 2 weeks (I think our blog is up to date until this point)

4. Sarah got sick for the next 2 weeks of August and beginning of September! We've had a run of bad luck lately...which brings me to point number 5...

5. Our toilet has been leaking unbeknownst to us, soaking the floor underneath, which by the way, is above our garage...so we noticed our garage ceiling was leaking. We had to punch through the drywall and low and behold the floor under our toilet is rotted and we have to rip up all our tile in our bathroom to fix the floor, and THEN get the toilet fixed. $$$$$

6. Our bathroom sink started leaking too. Did I mention the run of bad luck??

7. Cory ran a half marathon at the end of August!  That's 13.1 miles. He did awesome! It was in the mountains near Boone, NC, and was up and down hills the whole way. We're so proud of him!

8. Sophie started preschool again! She is in the 3 year old class (even though she turns 4 in 2 months) and she loves it! She goes 3 days a week and I enjoy the time with only Sienna to go shopping, etc.

9. My mom came to visit for a week and we went to Myrtle Beach for 3 days. Had a great time in the ocean and all the hotel pools, and we went to the Ripley's Aquarium. Our bad luck continued since Sienna and I were both sick on this trip...nothing major, but I had a bad cough and Sienna was congested and also started coughing. Plus, my mom's luggage didn't come with her on the plane so we had to wait a day for them to bring it to us at the hotel.

10. We went to the Children's Museum last week.  We rarely go because it's so expensive but we went on discount night and the girls loved it!

11. Cory turned 34 years old yesterday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CORY! We went out to dinner, just the two of us, and Sienna, who is very clingy and doesn't like any person other than us go near her, actually did well with our friend Carol who babysat them. I made him his traditional confetti cake, this time with oreos on top.

12. Cory is temporarily the manager at his job again, since his supervisor is having a baby and gone on maternity leave.

13. I am still at home, slightly crazy in the head and trying to maintain sanity by writing articles online and tutoring biology. Check out some of my latest articles:

14. Sienna is almost 17 months and has her own language and is very smart and a huge troublemaker, getting into and on top of everything.  But she is so cute we still keep her.

15. Sophie changes outfits literally 5 times a day, and insists on wearing pajamas during the day, or wearing a complete rainbow colored outfit, or wearing only her tights, or some other crazy idea. She and daddy play LEGOs almost everyday and I'm not sure who is having more fun....

Which brings us to today. I'll try to blog more often but it never seems to happen! The weather is cooling down but the leaves haven't started changing yet. Fall is coming!
