There are about 8 state parks in our area of North Carolina alone, so we decided to have another go. This time we went to Hanging Rock State Park...I think it was much better than Pilot Mountain...mostly due to the fall colors of the trees and the waterfalls! That was my favorite part.
This is at the Upper Cascades waterfalls. There were a few trails we went on to get to the different falls, but the worst trail we unfortunately left until last (not knowing how treacherous it was!). The trail to the Hanging Rock itself.
